Bury Football Club
Not a fan, obviously, but they are in a shocking state. Club could be closed by tomorrow.

Even though from Yorkshire, this is a good précis.

Bury, albeit long ago, won the FA Cup twice. Same tally as us. First club to score 1000 goals in all divisions.

If every Prem player donated 0.5% of their outrageous wages, Bury FC would likely survive.

They'll need a new Chairman: he's already refused buyout deals. He's clearly a cnt.

Don't need to reiterate, but: MODERN FOOTBALL IS RUBBISH.

I don't expect much response to this!

Very true but where cattle market leads a sizeable pig market follows alongside

If the new Bury could guarantee a regular 3K plus level of home support they could do a Wimbledon and eventually get back to the Football league.

Most black puddings are made with pig blood.

Clonakilty, an Irish version uses cow blood.

Are you saying that 4000 will generate enough money for Bury to buy decent players to go up the leagues? otherwise I don't get your logic in thinking a large crowd will get them through the leagues in quick time.

Comma

I hope you realise that Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and Bury, Greater Manchester are both distinct places.

Both are noted for the excellent quality of their black pudding probably due to the fact that both were notable cattle market towns.

The late Clement Freud for a time represented Bury St. Edmunds as an MP. A noted horse race follower he once owned a chaser that he called Dig up St. Edmunds.

Ha, at comma.

The club will surely go on. In some form. But it will be a long road back, if at all. And where they will play, who knows?

Resurrection Ramblers FC.

When a new club emerges from the ashes will it be called Exhume?

They will be back sooner rather than later...

With crowds of at least 4,000 they can tear through the non-league pyramid in a handful of years

Trouble is then it sets a precedent.

Owners can do whatever the fuck they want to rape a club of all it's assets safe in the knowledge the EFL will swoop in and pick up the pieces once it's been bled dry.

Re: Bury Football Club
The football league should have stepped in and bought bury and then franchised it out

A better solution than this embarrassment

Re: Bury Football Club
If reports are correct, then the amount needed to save them - around $2.5 million on the stadium debt - is *one tenth* of the amount Man City spent on agents fees from Feb 2018 to Jan 2019. What an utter disgrace.

Man City are not the guilty party in that sentence - the complicit, corrupt, unethical, spineless and inept English FA and the Premier League are.

You say ".. football is too top heavy and getting worse... horrible state of affairs. "

Too right. Looks like Manchester United are willing to pay Alexis Sanchez at least £200k PER WEEK to NOT play for them.

Absolutely bonkers. It beggars belief.

Re: Bury Football Club
Just reading how the Nevilles have a bunch to say about it now it’s done and dusted. Perhaps they could have dropped their interest in Salford who are more than ok and jumped in to help save Bury instead, given their ties to the club and community there...

Even a bit of their money would have probably made a big difference.
